The Location

The Square is located inside Chester Zoo, surrounded by over 128 acres of award-winning zoological gardens which you will be welcome to explore during the day.

The Gatehouse &
Private Events Entrance

After making your way to the Private Events Entrance, zoo staff will welcome you into the zoo through The Gatehouse, then follow the signs for The Square. Look out for some of the animals you might spot on the way!

How to Get There

By Car

Chester Zoo can easily be reached by car from M56 Junction 14 or M53 Junction 12. Head to the Private Events Entrance carpark (not the main Zoo entrance).

Parking

Complimentary parking is available at the Private Events Entrance car park. Cars must be collected by 10 the following morning.

By Public Transport

The Private Events Entrance of the Zoo can be reached by bus. Take the First Bus no. 1 service from outside Bache Station (runs every 20 minutes everyday) and get off outside The Wheatsheaf Inn on Heath Road. It is then a 10 minute walk across the A41 and up Caughall Road to the Private Events Entrance.

Bache Station is served by Merseyrail on its Chester to Liverpool line and trains run every 15 minutes during peak times from Liverpool, Birkenhead and Chester.
